Thursdays we have a group game and encourage all the children to join in the planned game.
Fridays we have free time. We have use of Beckenham Park and will quite often play in the playground or feed the ducks. We let the children have free play of all our quality equipment.
When the Beckenham School pool is open (during terms 1 & 4) we have use of the pool, and use it as much as we can, we therefore ask all children to bring their togs and towels everyday during these terms.
We ask children to wear hats every day during terms 1 & 4. We have spare hats available which children will be asked to wear if they don't bring one. We provide a broad spectrum sunscreen SPF30 for use by all children. If your child requires a different type, please send them with this.
We have a maximum of 40 children each day.
To encourage appropraite behaviour in children we have a "BOSCO Auction" in place. Children will earn BOSCO dollars for various great behaviour. At the end of the term, children use their BOSCO Money to bid for items on auction e.g. movie passes, stationary items etc.
Holiday Programme:
We have 2 excursions a week. Our days are filled with games, crafts and cooking. We have plenty of free time for children to unwind also. We will go on walks to surrounding parks and library when we can.
We ask children to come with sun-hats, packed (healthy) lunch and a waterbottle everyday. As well as togs and towels during December and January Holiday programmes.
Our programme changes everytime, so for a detailed description check programme guide (available 4 weeks prior to programme beginning).
We have a maximum of 30 children during the holiday programme.
We are child, youth and family approved and follow their guidelines (located here)
The Co-ordinator or Supervisor will always be in attendance of all programmes. Our ratios are 1:10 or 1:6 for excursions or 1:4 for swimming.
BOSCO is managed by a voluntary Management Committee of parents/caregivers past and present. Please contact the Co-ordinator for further information or to join. We meet on the third Monday of each month in the school libray from 5.15-6.30pm, childcare and dinner is provided for children during this time. We encourage active parent participation.
Transport will generally be by Charlies Party Bus company. For smaller outings, staff may drive their own vehicles or use a reputable taxi company (parents/caregivers will be notified prior to mode of transport and be required to sign a permission slip).
